Playin’ Around Town

Today I am brimming with excitement to kickoff and share my new project! I’ve been working on it for a while and find it pretty cool that it is ready to launch into the world today, 11/11! So… what is it?

You all know that play is my passion- specifically helping moms, families and adults around the world to unlock the power of play in their lives. In my research I’ve found that one common obstacle that often stops adults from playing is that they aren’t sure what to do. (In fact in one of my studies not knowing what to do was the second most popular response as the biggest obstacle to having fun.) That insight sparked this project!

I’m still playing around with the exact name. I originally planned to call it “How Do You Play?”, although once I typed “Playing Around” or even “Playin’ Around” it sounded pretty good! I’m also toying with calling it “Fun Friday”, “Friday Fun”, or “Playin’ Around Town”… Ok, as always I have a lot of ideas. More than anything, I’d love to hear what YOU think would be a good name for it so please reach out and let me know! For now, I think I’ll go with Playin’ Around Town.

My New Project

Playin’ Around Town is my new video series. It is an ongoing mini documentary featuring live interviews with playful people I find out and about. I interview people of all ages and share what they like to do for fun, how they got into it, what they had to overcome to do it, and silly stories along the way. My goal is to inspire play and share unique ways that different people play. I’d also like to show that it doesn’t have to be fancy or expensive or even take a lot of time and that the benefits of adding play to your regular routine are far-reaching!

If you’d like to be interviewed or know someone who would or someone who has a unique activity reach out! I’d love to share a diverse range of fun.

For today I invite you to play! Do something for yourself for the pure joy of it. Remember play is a pathway to living a happy and fulfilled life, not to mention that it is fun. I am so excited to share this series with you! Play on.

Love this! It’s so important that adults know how to “play.” maybe you can film our pickle ball group? Joining this group has made a big difference in my life. We’re having so much fun while we’re getting exercise. And of course you’re connected to a community of great women. Win, win, win!
